Paris for me has been: zoning out to the sounds in the classroom labs of 'oobleedeeoooahhblahh' because of my dysfunctional and linguistically challenged brain, lunch at the tuileries when the sun is shining in the sky, unquestioning acceptance and friendship in a city infamous for being devoutly pretentious, effortless beauty, shameless PDA everywhere I turn, chic rooms filled with clowds of smoke, and nights that don't end until daybreaks and the metro opens up again. Paris, j'adore ça. Commas, commas, commas, and run-on sentences.

Step 1. Marc as muse.
Step 2. Prototypes
Step 3. Always, always, always more photos to come.
Oh yeah, I live in Paris. I should be posting pictures daily.

Paris Fashion Week
Love the Vandevorst face harnesses.
Looking like I was shot with a tranquilizer dart at the Damir Doma show. Shameless self-promotion at its finest - me wearing one of my dresses/zana's harness, which made it's way to Vogue.it - check out the voguistas.
This past week has been an absolute blur. Ecole de la couture's demanding schedule and the soul crushing criticism you receive post-project submission, I've decided each fashion week is necessary to go on hiatus from classes for a mental health break.
Zana whisked in and out of town all too quickly.
@ the Lurve party
Miss you Zana!
Fashionably late per usual to the Cobrasnake/Colette yardsale, so late we missed it completely.

Paris men's week/ couture
Maison Martin Margiela was yesterday, and I wasn't sure what to expect given all the skepticism lately following Margiela's departure from the label. Perhaps it's not the most outlandish, but I really appreciated the creative process and artistry involved in creating the pieces - all materials used for each look are either recycled or new and are deconstructed to manipulate and transform the garments for a new purpose. The adornments were also impressive to see upclose - hand beading, metals, and plexiglass. Either way, I enjoyed it and it seemed to be one of the more thought-out collection of pieces that I'd seen all week. Paris seemed so uninspired and some collections seemed more conceptually driven and less developed in the design process.

mmmm... julius
I missed Aitor Throup's retrospective show "Legs", which I was the most excited for. His work is astounding.

a gigantic update to come
I've been in Paris since fashion week, loving it here, and am also in the process of finishing my site and moving my blog there... until then:

GATOS LOCOS, GUEY!

So, I was finally able to stop and see the Lacroix family and their new space for Medicine Agency. It looked phenomenal, and it was also a fun show because Rony was in town doing his photo booth and Gino Perez was showing his work 'Gatos Locos'. Amazing. It may or may not be the last time I get to see my Lissa-Moon soon-to-be-Lacroix, unfortunately, but Medicine Agency is doing amazingly well with all the new artists and labels they're representing. busy, busy.
