Fan Mag

While I've been in Paris, I discovered the shoot of my collection via photog Claudia Goeztelmann/Erin Frederick/City Models was published in Fan Mag wooo

At Issey Miyake FW 2010

Just me traipsing around shamelessly advertising my designs.
The Issey Miyake show was amazing for me; from the garments and the hair and goggles the models were wearing to the orientation of the catwalk the collection was inspired by complex mathematical models that demonstrate the shape of the universe. It was artful, conceptual, and inspired, which is something I find to be lacking a lot lately in a lot of the shows I saw - strong development and inspiration. The color palette and textures were beautiful and contemporary, and refreshing after an endless stream of somber collections and black drapery.

Nostalgia pour Nasty Gal

Being so far away from home for such a long period of time, especially for the FIRST time in your life, you may run the risk of becoming nostalgic quite often. I find myself reflecting a lot about friends back at home, and my pride towards the things they've accomplished. Sophia of Nasty Gal, being one of those people who is always impressing me.

some of my favorite shots.

The international friendship club

Paris for me has been: zoning out to the sounds in the classroom labs of 'oobleedeeoooahhblahh' because of my dysfunctional and linguistically challenged brain, lunch at the tuileries when the sun is shining in the sky, unquestioning acceptance and friendship in a city infamous for being devoutly pretentious, effortless beauty, shameless PDA everywhere I turn, chic rooms filled with clowds of smoke, and nights that don't end until daybreaks and the metro opens up again. Paris, j'adore ça. Commas, commas, commas, and run-on sentences.

Current motivation: Finish YEAR overdue website/lookbook/portfolio, master the french language, expand to menswear :
Step 1. Marc as muse.
Step 2. Prototypes
Step 3. Always, always, always more photos to come.

Oh yeah, I live in Paris. I should be posting pictures daily.

Paris Fashion Week

Love the Vandevorst face harnesses.

Looking like I was shot with a tranquilizer dart at the Damir Doma show. Shameless self-promotion at its finest - me wearing one of my dresses/zana's harness, which made it's way to Vogue.it - check out the voguistas.

This past week has been an absolute blur. Ecole de la couture's demanding schedule and the soul crushing criticism you receive post-project submission, I've decided each fashion week is necessary to go on hiatus from classes for a mental health break.
Zana whisked in and out of town all too quickly.

@ the Lurve party

Miss you Zana!

Fashionably late per usual to the Cobrasnake/Colette yardsale, so late we missed it completely.
