Paris men's week/ couture

Maison Martin Margiela was yesterday, and I wasn't sure what to expect given all the skepticism lately following Margiela's departure from the label. Perhaps it's not the most outlandish, but I really appreciated the creative process and artistry involved in creating the pieces - all materials used for each look are either recycled or new and are deconstructed to manipulate and transform the garments for a new purpose. The adornments were also impressive to see upclose - hand beading, metals, and plexiglass. Either way, I enjoyed it and it seemed to be one of the more thought-out collection of pieces that I'd seen all week. Paris seemed so uninspired and some collections seemed more conceptually driven and less developed in the design process.

I missed Aitor Throup's retrospective show "Legs", which I was the most excited for. His work is astounding.
